Autumn hits us so quickly these days, with temperatures dropping radically over night and the grey clouds looming, we have to drastically pull out jumpers from the bottom of our wardrobes and uncover our boots from those piles of summer dresses, to try and keep us warm.
However as we prepare ourselves for yet another change in season, we need to also prepare ourselves for changes in our skin, hair and nails. We need to ensure that we alter our skin and haircare routine for autumn as much as we would do with our clothes. The cold weather, wind and rain can cause increased sensitivity to skin, dryness and redness. Extra care is needed to ensure that your skin gets all the healthy nutrients that they need to avoid any visible effects.
Evelle Limited Edition Set £59.92 is a fantastic all round skincare set to provide you with all the nutirents that your skin needs over autumn including zinc and biotin. This will help avoid those autumnal days getting the better of your skin and keep it looking at its best. There is no need to overload your skin with numerous products, try sticking with a couple of good quality products that do what they say.
If you are concerned about dry hair and brittle nails too, Evelle also produce a fantastic Evelle Skin, Hair & Nails supplement £34.95 that provides you with added organic selenium yeast and SelenoPrecise which encourages great looking hair and strong nails.
Looking after yourself doesn’t have to be hard work, make sure you take extra care throughout these cold months. Look after your skin as much as you would do in the summer and always ensure that you use great products that do what they say.

Its been one of those weeks, where I feel that I have been doing an awful lot of running around and I am most certainly looking forward to my next day off. We are all human and work, life and stress can get the better of all of us sometimes. So to make life easier, I have been doing a lot on the go this week, paying bills on lunch breaks, arranging for my car to get booked in the garage whilst in between meetings and catching up on missed phone calls whilst driving home (bluetooth of course!).
My skin can certainly suffer with tiredness and can look extremely sallow towards the end of the day. So in my best interest to not let work life get the better of me, I have rammed my hand bag full of beauty treats to refresh my skin during these busy hectic days…
My new lifelong friend is my new essential that I now can’t live without.Weleda Skin Food is the ultimate skin care cream to prevent and ease your skin of dryness, day to day stresses and to defend your skin against poor weather. I have been applying this twice daily to my hands over the last few days as my cuticles are so dry thanks to the poor weather. This cream is a delight, its texture is smooth, it penetrates into your skin quickly and best of all it smells beautiful. My nails are already looking better and my skin feels much softer. I cant get enough of this beauty essential and I am often finding myself applying it on my legs and arms during the day too! Full of 100% natural goodness, this handbag beauty just cant get any better!

I am my own worst enemy when it comes to getting a good nights sleep. Like lots of other people, my mind is at its most active at night. This is when I tend to come up with some of my most ‘finest’ ideas of which always sound so great until I wake up in the morning and realise that my mind got completely carried away with itself!
Feeling refreshed, revitalised and stress free can all come down to having a good nights sleep. Yes this does come with time, however when is it ever a good time to start something new?
Here are a few of my top tips to achieving a better nights sleep:
1. Routine – Make sure you have your bedtime routine. Yes I know this sounds boring, but having a routine can help train your body and mind to wind down ready to sleep.
2. Avoid eating late – Try not to eat leading up to getting in bed. Eating late can make your body work over time and can cause you to stay away longer. Why not try setting a deadline after your dinner to avoid eating too late?
3. No caffeine – I know this sounds like an obvious one, but this doesn’t just refer to tea and coffee. Avoid having any fizzy drinks late at night and if your not too sure if a drink contains caffeine, just check on the back of the package. Chances are that it does and this can really interfere with your sleeping pattern.
4. Make your bed! – Make a conscious effort to make your bed every morning. The condition of your bedroom is really important so make sure that it is always clean, tidy and change your bedcovers regularly. The last thing you want is climbing into a messy bed with clothes everywhere. This will help keep your mind and body relaxed.
5. Keep Cool – Try opening a window or wearing non tight fitting clothes. Feeling comfortable is so important and we all know that getting too warm can wake you up.
Why not try one of these tips and see what difference they make to you?
Life is so hectic and I know there is no way you can stop this. There are are certain things however, that I believe you can do to help balance yourself and create a better quality of life.
I was hugely inspired from staying in an apartment that we rented on our holiday in Los Angeles. When I walked into the apartment I automatically had a sense of calm and relaxation. The apartment was beautiful, clean, in order and no frills. Everything that was in the apartment (furniture, food etc) was of high quality however very minimal. It felt so refreshing to be in a well balanced, non chaotic and revitalising home.
I believe this is something that you can introduce in all areas of your life. I have found this fantastic website that really inspires me to detox and make better use of the little time that I do have. We are all so manic, working all the time, never stopping to breathe or to even take time out for ourselves. Try and make this easier for yourself by making other parts of your life more fulfilled. Take that time out and make sure that you look after you too.
